Pilates

Joseph Pilats (born 1883 in Germany) believed our modern lifestyle, bad posture and inefficient breathing were the roots of ill health. His answer to these problems was to design a unique series of vigorous physical exercises that help to correct muscular imbalances and improve posture, coordination, balance, strength, and flexibility, as well as to increase breathing capacity and organ function. 

Franklin Methodยฎ

The Franklin Methodยฎ is recognized by health providers in Switzerland and is regularly seen at Pilates, Yoga and Physiotherapy conferences.


One of the greatest discoveries of the 21st century is the plasticity of the brain; that the lives we live shape the brain we develop. The Franklin Methodยฎ is at the forefront of practical neuroplasticity; showing you how to use your mind to body function. 


This method, based on fundamental scientific research, brings efficiency to all physical treatments, trainings and/or rehabilitation. 

Pilates & Franklin Methodยฎ ๐ŸชขP&F

Studio Zuid has worked for over ten years combining Franklin Methodยฎ anatomical awareness to the Pilates repertoire ๐ŸชขP&F offering a unique movement education that truly balances the mind to body connection.

Classes & Schedule

Studio Zuid offers a wide range of classes.
There are mat classes and equipment classes. The mat classes are one hour (55 minutes) in length and have up to 8 participants. The class numbers are small to create an intimate personalized experience. 


All new clients are requested to attend one private 'intake session' (90โ‚ฌ) to determine the best class for your needs. The 'intake session' is a full hour of private one on one training addressing your specific concerns in a slow conversational approach. After attending this 'intake session' you can then sample one large mat or balls/bands class listed below (not apparatus) at no cost. 


Apparatus classes can be: 

  • a Private class ((the trainer teaches a session of an hour (55 minutes) to a single client))
  • a Duet class ((the trainer teaches a session of one hour (55 minutes) to two clients))
  • a Trio class ((the trainer teaches a session of one hour (55 minutes) to three clients))


In the classes above all Pilates apparatus present in the Studio (Reformer/Tower, Cadillac, Chair & Arc) can be incorporated. 

Mat Class

Virtual Classes (๐ŸŽฅVC) and Recordings are available for those who wish/choose to train from home/holiday. You have the option to log in live from the comfort of your home/holiday via the Zoom application.

If you miss your apparatus class you can make this up in any of the classes offered, swap for a private or give your class credit to another.

If you miss your mat/balls&bands class then you can make these up in any of the classes offered EXCEPT apparatus, swap for a private or give your class credit to another. 


Each block is a ten week series and all classes must be made up within that block unless you continue into the new block. All classes from all blocks must be made up by the end of the season. (End of July)

Refunds are not possible, but transfer of credit to another is possible.

This system is designed to create progression, which cannot occur if you are not coming regularly to class. 


Equipment Class

An equipment class can be arranged in consultation with Studio Zuid. The choice for the type of class is personal and individually designed.


Experience shows clients with physical complaints are best served by a Private class, simply because a targeted re-education works best in a one on one situation.


The first Private intake class has an exploratory character in which expectations and  physical symptoms and/or limitations are discussed. This 'intake' class lasts an hour (55 minutes). After this the trainer and client decide together on how to continue.


Studio Zuid has four Reformer/Tower combination, two Cadillac/Reformer combination, six Arcs & three Chair apparatus.
